Platform Lift Use in New Construction
Platform lifts shall be permitted as a component of an accessible route in new construction in the following applications:
Performance areas such as stages and speakersÆ platforms.
Access to wheelchair spaces and line-of-sight requirements.
Incidental spaces that are not public use spaces.
Judicial spaces such as witness stands and jury boxes.
Existing exterior site constraints where where exterior constraints make the use of a ramp or elevator infeasible.
